Lockergrid usage requires leasing a pod before accessing them. The various aspects of using lockergrid are described in detail below.

Leasing Pods

To lease a pod, one has to create a lease on lockergrid platform. Explore the grid first to check available pods. If a pod is already leased, then it can’t be leased.

Lockergrid lease can contain:

  • One pod in one pincode.
  • More than one pod spread across different pincodes and cities.

You can terminate your lease anytime as well. There is no lock-ins clause in the lease. You are in full control. Partial usage of an hour is billed for the full hour. Terminating a lease revokes access to all pods that are part of the lease.

Currently we don’t allow adding or removing pods from an active lease. This is definitely in our development pipeline.

Accessing Pods

Once the pod is leased, they can be opened remotely. Make sure that the lockergrid pods are closed post access. The pod doors can’t be closed remotely. If for some reason the pod door remains open, they will have to be closed manually by the lockergrid partner, which comes at a cost.

The client can check the status of a leased pod anytime. However, instead of polling the status of the pod, it is best to subscribe to the locker events which get triggered when a locker is opened and closed.

Monitoring Pods

Clients can easily monitor their usage of lockergrid platform. The usage can be tracked on the level of:

  • Pod open and close events in a lease across all pods.
  • Pod open and close events for a specific pod in the lease.
